How to use Sleeved.

A step-by-step guide to installing the app, importing your catalog, setting up rules, running your first sync, and managing ongoing autopricing for your Shopify card store.

Getting started

1. Installing Sleeved

Sleeved is installed directly through the Shopify App Store. You'll need to be logged in to the Shopify admin for the store you want to connect.

Step 1

Open the Shopify App Store listing

Visit the Sleeved App Store listing and click Add app.

Step 2

Approve permissions

Sleeved requests permission to read and write your Shopify product catalog. This is required to import your existing inventory and update prices. No other store data is accessed.

Step 3

Complete OAuth install

Shopify handles the OAuth handshake and redirects you to the Sleeved app inside your admin. You'll land on the welcome screen to begin setup.

Non-USD stores (AUD, CAD, and others)

Sleeved prices in USD — the same market data used by TCGPlayer. If your Shopify store's default currency is not USD, set up Shopify Markets before running your first sync: set your base currency to USD and enable local currency display for your region. Shopify will handle the conversion for your customers at checkout, while Sleeved writes accurate USD values. See the FAQ for more detail.

2. Choosing your plan

After install, you'll be shown the plan selection screen. The Free plan is pre-selected — you can continue on Free and upgrade at any time.

If you have more than 250 active singles SKUs, or you want scheduled auto-sync, choose Starter or above before continuing. Plan billing is handled through Shopify's billing system.

Not sure which plan you need? Start free. You can see exactly how many SKUs you have during the import step and upgrade then if needed.
Plan Price SKU limit Auto-sync
Free $0 / mo 250 Manual only
Starter $29 / mo 2,500 Every 6 hours
Growth $69 / mo 15,000 Faster cadence
Pro $129 / mo 50,000 Fastest cadence

3. Selecting your games

Choose which TCGs you sell. Sleeved uses your selection to activate the right matching logic and pricing data feeds for your catalog. You can select multiple games.

Available at launch: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, One Piece Card Game.

💡 Only select games you actively stock. Adding a game you don't sell doesn't break anything, but it may create unnecessary matches during the import step.

You can update your game selection at any time from the Settings screen.

Setup

4. Importing your catalog

Sleeved imports your existing Shopify singles inventory directly. There are two ways to get your catalog in:

Option A — Shopify import (recommended)

Pull from your live store

Sleeved reads your current Shopify products and pulls singles into the matching queue. No CSV needed. Sleeved respects your existing product structure and won't modify anything during import.

Option B — CSV import

Upload a CSV export

Export your catalog from your existing tool (spreadsheet, BinderPOS export, or Shopify product CSV) and upload it. Sleeved parses the file and queues matches for review. Useful if you're migrating from another platform or want to import a subset of your inventory.

5. Reviewing card matches

After import, Sleeved attempts to match each product to a card in the database using name, set, and collector number. You review every match before anything is priced.

The mapping screen shows each product with its proposed card match and a confidence level. Most standard named products will match automatically. If a match is wrong or missing, you can search for the correct card manually and reassign it.

Unmatched products are excluded from pricing runs until you resolve them. They won't cause errors — they're just skipped. You can resolve them at any time from the Inventory screen.

Tip

Use consistent product naming for best auto-match rates

Products named in standard format (e.g. "Black Lotus [Alpha]" or "Charizard - Base Set - Holo Rare") match more reliably than abbreviated or custom-format names.

6. Configuring pricing rules

Pricing rules are the safeguards that make autopricing usable. Before your first sync, set a store default rule. You can also set per-product overrides and bulk-assign rules to sets or collections.

Price floor

Set a minimum price for a product or category. Sleeved will never price below this threshold regardless of market data. Useful for protecting margin on low-value bulk and ensuring you're never giving cards away.

Margin rule

Define a minimum margin percentage. Enter your cost and the margin you want to maintain — Sleeved calculates the effective floor automatically and blocks pricing that would fall below it.

Movement cap

Limit how much a price can move in a single sync — expressed as a percentage. A 20% cap means Sleeved won't change any price by more than 20% in one run, even if market data suggests a larger move. Good for volatile cards.

Price source

Choose which market price reference to use — mid market, low, or high. Mid is the default and recommended starting point. Low is useful for staying competitive on high-demand singles. High protects margin on lower-volume items.

💡 Set a store default rule first, then override specific products or sets as needed. You don't need a rule on every SKU — unruled products inherit the store default.

7. Locking SKUs

Some cards you want to price yourself — reserved stock, consignment, or items where your cost basis is unusual. Lock those SKUs and Sleeved will skip them in every sync, regardless of market movement.

To lock a SKU, open the product detail view from the Inventory screen and toggle the lock. Locked products are shown with a lock icon in the inventory list and are excluded from all dry-run previews and applied syncs.

Locks are permanent until you remove them. They survive sync schedule changes, plan upgrades, and game catalog updates. You can lock or unlock at any time from the product detail view.

8. Running a dry-run preview

Every sync in Sleeved begins as a dry-run. This is not optional — it's the core safety mechanism. The dry-run fetches current market data, applies your rules, and shows you a full table of proposed changes before anything is written to your Shopify store.

Step 1

Trigger the dry-run

From the dashboard or the Sync screen, click Run pricing preview. Sleeved fetches fresh market data for all matched products in your catalog.

Step 2

Review the results table

The preview shows each product, its current price, the proposed new price, the change amount and direction, and which rule (if any) was applied. Products blocked by a floor or cap are shown with the reason.

Step 3

Adjust or exclude individual lines

If anything looks wrong, you can exclude individual products from this run without changing their rules. Exclusions apply to this sync only — the product will appear again in the next run.

Step 4

Approve to proceed

When you're satisfied, click Apply changes. Sleeved writes the approved prices to Shopify and records the full run in the audit log.

9. Applying a sync

After you approve the dry-run, Sleeved applies the changes in the background. Prices are written to Shopify in batches. You can continue using the app while a sync is in progress.

When the sync completes, you'll see a summary screen showing how many products were updated, how many were skipped (locked, blocked by rule, or excluded), and a link to the full run detail in the audit log.

Shopify may take a few seconds to reflect price updates in your storefront after a sync completes. This is normal — it's Shopify's propagation delay, not a Sleeved issue.

10. Setting your sync schedule

On Starter and above, Sleeved runs on a schedule so you don't have to trigger syncs manually. Configure your schedule from Settings → Schedule.

Scheduled syncs still go through dry-run logic and respect all your rules. If you have auto-apply enabled, Sleeved will apply the changes automatically when the preview passes your rule checks. If you prefer to review first, scheduled runs will queue a preview for your approval.

💡 Start with manual-review mode for your first few scheduled runs. Once you're confident the rules are working as expected, switch to auto-apply.

11. Reading the audit log

The audit log is under History in the app navigation. It shows every sync run — scheduled or manual — with a summary of what happened.

Click any run to open the detail view, which shows a full line-by-line record of every product in that sync: the old price, the new price, the rule applied, and the market reference used. If a price was blocked or skipped, the reason is shown.

Use the audit log to:

  • Understand why a price is what it is
  • Verify that rules are working as expected
  • Identify products that are frequently blocked by floors
  • Review historical change patterns on specific cards

12. Manual refresh

At any time, you can trigger a manual pricing run from the dashboard — regardless of your plan or schedule setting. This is useful when you know the market has moved and don't want to wait for the next scheduled sync.

Manual refreshes follow the same dry-run → review → apply flow as scheduled syncs. Your rules and locks all apply normally.

13. Plan and billing

Your plan and billing are managed through Shopify's billing system. You can view your current plan, upgrade, or cancel from Settings → Plan & Billing inside the app.

All plans are billed monthly. There are no annual lock-ins, no transaction commissions, and no hidden fees. Cancelling removes the app from your Shopify store and stops all future syncs.

If you're on the Free plan and add more than 250 SKUs to your catalog, the additional products will be visible but excluded from pricing runs until you upgrade. Your existing priced products won't be affected.
